Starting off on the Walna Scar Road with what looks like a good weather day.
Brown Pike the peak to the left in the distance.
The rugged slopes of Dow Crag falling into Goat's Water.
Goat's Water looking ahead to the climb up to Goat's Hawse
where we turn right and head up to the Old Man of Coniston.
Goat's Hawse and the footpath up to Dow Crag.
Looking back along the path leading up to the Old Man.
Nearing the summit you can see the zig zag path down through some quarry workings
with Coniston village and Coniston Water a little further away.
The same zig zag path down with Low Water and just visible Levers Water.
The summit cairn on The Old Man of Coniston (803m), quite busy today as it is a bank holiday and good weather.
It was a great location today for taking a relaxing lunch with great views.
After the knee trembling descent down the zig zag paths we took a short break at Low Water.
Passing through disused mine workings and buildings.
This must have been quite a place to work.
A little lower the path which takes us back to the car comes into view,
Coniston water looking particularly colorful in the sun.
Looking across to the northern end of Coniston Water as we near the car.
Thanks for visiting.
